Great conditions at Tollesbury

The early May Day Bank Holiday meant that the events at Tollesbury really happened in April, but 16 OGA boats dared the early date and arrived at Tollesbury to take on the Sailing Club on Saturday.

Neva, with Rory Howlett, repeated their winning performance from 2014, while last year's winner Bonnie, with Clive Church unfortunately had to retire with a broken rudder.

A slight wind shift after the course was set meant a hard beat towards the far mark, and the race was shortened to ensure boats made it back to the Hard, but no one needed to reef, or get out their rain coats!

Claudia Myatt gave a short art class while the results were compiled, then everyone headed to the Kings Head for a delicious meal proved by the Pub.

Strong winds on Sunday meant that the afternoon's "raid" on West Mersea did not happen, but the Sailing Club provided bacon rolls for breakfast (with an egg if required), before a select few searched Tollesbury for treasure....
