The 2018 OGA Channel Cruise

Join in all or part of the 'Rolling Snowball' next summer, 2018.
Registration is open now for OGA55 in Cowes.

La Boule de Neige, Roscoff: 21 July
Festival of the Sea, Douarnenez: 25 - 29 July
Rolling Snowball, Falmouth: 4 August
Feeder Rally, Weymouth: 11 August
OGA55 at Cowes: 16 - 19 August

'Carlotta' is planning to cruise the Channel from 14 July to 14 August. I am hoping that those gaffers interested in a voyage to Douarnenez from the Solent will be able to meet in Yarmouth over the weekend 14/15 July. At each skipper’s discretion and weather permitting, we might then head for Alderney or Cherbourg, St Peter Port, the Treguier River, Perros Guirec and Roscoff.

The French gaffers will gather in Roscoff around the weekend of 21/22 July, with a view to sailing to L’Aber Wrac’h and onto to Camaret where receptions are planned to speed the boats on to Douarnenez by 25 July. This is what the French call 'La Boule de Neige'. Dates to be confirmed in May, 2018.

One or two French gaffers plan to be at OGA55. We hope to sail directly from Douarnenez to the Isles of Scilly or Falmouth. We plan to explore Scilly, the Helford and the Fal as gaffers from the South West and further afield gather to cruise in company to Fowey, Plymouth, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Weymouth. A rally is planned in Weymouth.

I am adding names to a WhatsApp group of people who express an interest in cruising the channel in company this summer, a 'Rolling Snowball' so that we can keep in touch and exchange ideas and photographs.
