The first Cowes Spring Classics on 11 - 13 May, 2018 got off to a great start, with social events for nearly 100 competitors on Friday and Saturday evenings, including “dress to suit the age of your yacht” dinner and two races on Sunday followed by the prizegiving.
24 fabulous classic yachts ranging from 20' to 65' entered the new regatta based at Shepards Marina in Cowes, Isle of Wight and made a spectacular sight to start the season racing in the Solent sunshine.
The organisers are keen to have a mix of boats, old and new, big and small with sufficient in each class to ensure there's a good race for everyone. Eight gaffers took part, the oldest dating back to 1889 and the newest launched in 2017.
