The Bristol Channel area covers some 300 miles of coastline, with sailing ranging from the open sea of the outer channel to the sheltered waters of the estuaries. 

Thursday evenings are, in normal circumstances, Gaffer’s Nights in Cardiff Bay, hosted and organised for the OGA fleet by the Gaffers Section of Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.
Enjoy an informal sail followed by discussion in the Cardiff Bay Yacht Club bar.
Those with a competitive bent may like to join the series of weekly self-timed races around the buoys:

Furthermore a number of Bristol Channel Day Cruises are organised throughout the season, commencing from Cardiff Bay, locking out into the Channel in company.

And to complete the offerings, an Annual Gaffers Race is held in Cardiff Bay, hosted by the Gaffers section of Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.
