On the weekend of 27^th and 28^th of May, the OGA Cruise fleet will be gathering at Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club (PYBC) right in the heart of the historic port of Dublin.

The Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association (DBOGA), which now includes all OGA members in Ireland North and South, is looking forward to giving the visiting fleet a warm welcome at Poolbeg from the evening of Friday 26^th May.

Our welcome includes:

• Free marina berthing for two nights - Friday and Saturday.
• Two parties with traditional Dublin friendship and music on Friday and Saturday evenings
• Food for three days. Friday evening, Saturday breakfast, Saturday evening, Sunday breakfast.
• Racing organised for Saturday (subject to registration).
• A parade of traditional sail up the River Liffey into the centre of the city on Sunday.
• Friendly assistance for those who want to visit the city.
• Goody bag with free gifts and mementos of your visit.

Members of the DBOGA will be on hand from Friday to assist visiting crews with berthing, food, fuel, supplies, entertainment, local sailing regulations, racing and other aspects of their visit.

DBOGA has over 100 members from all over the island of Ireland. Many of our members will be bringing their boats to join the party and help out our visitors.

Dublin is a thriving capital city with many cultural and historic sites and an excellent tradition for hospitality. The port has been an important maritime centre since Viking times. It has a rich professional and recreational maritime history that resonates with all who visit it. The surrounding bay hosts many sailing clubs and the Dublin populace has a close affinity with the sea and those who sail it. DBOGA members will be happy to provide information to visitors including such sights as the “Asgard”  and the Bantry Bay Longboat in the National Museum. The Asgard was owned by the author of the Riddle of the Sands - Erskine Childers and the Bantry Bay Longboat came ashore in 1798 and is the oldest extant example of a French naval vessel.
