The Naomh Crónán and her crew have been a mainstay of the Dublin Bay OGA over the past 20 years or so and is a much-loved and iconic boat on the east coast. Paul Keogh and her crew have worked relentlessly maintaining her in an exemplary manner during that time. The Naomh Crónán crew has decided that now is the right time to transfer her guardianship to our fellow organisation on the west coast - the Bádóirí an Cladaig. Donal Greene - active DBOGA member and Naomh Crónán crew-member - is also a driving force in the Bádóirí and will be her new skipper. While it was with great sadness that we learned she will be leaving Dublin Bay we are thrilled about her 'return to her spiritual roots' and the secure and bright future awaiting her there.

Her crew has worked very intensively over the past few months replacing some of her timbers etc and she is once again in absolutely pristine condition. This is in addition to the very innovative laminated spars that Donal Greene and co completed in the spring of 2019. Paul Keogh and crew are very happy and proud that she is changing guardianship while she is in such perfect condition and everyone in DBOGA is full of admiration for that as well.

She was handed over to the Bádóirí an Cladaig at a ceremony in Malahide Boatyard on Saturday 20th June.

DBOGA wishes the Naomh Crónán, Paul Keogh and her old crew and the Bádóirí an Cladaig the very best of luck in the future and we all look forward to seeing her again - both on the west coast and also, hopefully, when she visits Dublin Bay again at some stage.
