Tugboats and Pilots Talk and New Member Muster - 24th February
Areas > East Coast > Events
We are pleased to combine a talk about Harwich Tugs and Pilots with an opportunity to meet new members who joined the East Coast OGA in 2023. The location will allow us to see progress in the Sutton Hoo replica ship build.
An afternoon talk by Ben Grundy, Harwich Tug Master, and Jane Stone Harwich Pilot. What really goes on and how do they work together to bring some of the world’s largest container ships in and out of Harwich Harbour.
Places may be booked free of charge for new members, joining since January 2023, or £7.50 for others. We hope as many as possible longer-term members will come along to provide a warm welcome and enjoy the talk.
Start 1400 Finish 1630.
We will have a refreshment break halfway through - tea, coffee and biscuits.
The location will be the John Gibbins Gallery, overlooking the Sutton Hoo long-ship reconstruction project. John Gibbins Gallery, The Longshed, Woodbridge IP12 1FP.
There is no parking at the venue. There is a large ‘Pay and Display’ car park a short walk away at the Station / Community Hall. Alternatively there is unlimited on-road parking on Melton Road about ten minutes walk away.
