East Coast August Classics 2015

The East Coast August Classics took place this year a week earlier than usual, running from 15 - 22 August 2015. It proved to be a great week of racing, cruising and fun ashore for the large fleet of participating boats, skippers and crews. As usual, the event started with a passage race to the River Orwell followed by the Teamac Regatta on Sunday in the Wet Dock, Ipswich. Following the Pursuit Race to Wrabness on Monday, boats gathered for a damp start for the Two Rivers Race to Shotley on Tuesday. After a leisurely cruise to Walton Backwaters with the option for barbecues on the beach at Stone Point, racing continued on Thursday in Pennyhole Bay. This year the Ladies Helm and Junior Helm races to Pin Mill attracted record entries and the week was rounded off with the President's Race on Saturday, finishing at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington for supper and evening entertainment.
