Graham Wadeson

Graham has sadly passed away, he was 82 years old and a member of the old Gaffers Association.
Originally he was from Chadwell Heath nr Romford Essex and an only child of Victor and Gladys
Wadeson. He was married to Valerie Brown who also came from Chadwell Heath. He was an
insurance broker in London for many years and lived in Liss, Hampshire, Abbotsley, Cambridgeshire
and ThorpeBay Essex before moving to Woodbridge to retire. Sadly just before this happened
Valerie had the first of several strokes and he became her main carer and devoted husband.

Graham had several boats in his lifetime Cobweb a clinker built 12ft dinghy, Lady Beatrice a wooden
cruiser, Hope a Cornish Cobble a sharpie and various little tenders. He loved joining in ‘Gaffers
events especially involving music as he was an avid Banjo, Ukulele and piano accordion player. He
joined many friends from the club including from Holland and France at gatherings and regattas.
Graham was also a vintage sports car fan and owned among others an Austin 12 ‘Gusty’ who was
restored by the car SOS program on tv and handed over at Woodbridge Tidemill. He was a member
of the VSCC and the ukulele group ‘What no cake’ !

He leaves his wife Valerie and his two children Patrick and Julia and between them there are 6
Grandchildren. Graham had many friends in Woodbridge and I am sure that he would like to invite
everyone who knew him to his funeral at seven hills crematorium on Friday 26th August 2022 at
12.45pm and afterwards at the Cruising Club in Woodbridge to celebrate his life.
