East Coast AGM 2021

The East Coast Area AGM took place on 6th November at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club followed by the annual dinner. See the Minutes which will be published in due course.

There was less emphasis on the year past (for obvious reasons) and instead some serious forward planning for the 60th anniversary of the OGA in 2023 for which the East Coast is hosting the main event. Volunteers were invited to come forward to help with planning and running that - and that appeal is repeated here - please email secretary@ecoga.org.uk to see how you can help.

The evening started in the bar of the RBYC with its stunning panoramic views of the River Crouch, and continued with an excellent 4 course dinner. Even in a dining room that could handle three times the number there was a buzz of chatter and laughter. We have missed this during the Covid pandemic and it was good to be back!

Special guest and entertaining speaker was Will Dallimore, grandson of the well known local yacht designer Norman E. Dallimore. There were toasts galore  and of course the Crouch Mafia was there in force.

For a more detailed report look out for the next edition of Eastcoaster.

Well done and thank you to organizers Trevor and Elaine Rawlinson and to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club.
