Yarmouth this weekend saw the return of over 90 gaff rigged yachts to the Yarmouth Gaffers Regatta, organised by the Solent Old Gaffers Association.

The event, which ran from 2nd - 5th June attracted gaff rigged vessels from the East Coast, on passage to the Festival at Brest in France, and the Brixham Trawler ' Provident' as well as many local boats.

Members enjoyed music and dancing, barbeques and fun on the water in the harbour. The event also raised over £500 for local charity, the Ellen McArthur Trust.

With racing planned for every day skippers had plenty of opportunity to show their skills. Unfortunately the wind was less obliging with boats struggling to complete the courses in light airs. Back in the harbour the weekend proved an excellent opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new members.
