This page is for SWG members to submit a photograph of your boat to be displayed on the 'Our SWG Boats' page and to add your details to our online SWG member database. Both are public domain, the data we record is compliant with GDPR requirements.

The Database serves a number of purposes.

1. To showcase photos of our diverse fleet of boats to the general public.
2. To allow members to easily identify if a local boat is owned by a SWG member.
3. To encourage community within the SWG by allowing members to see which other members live locally, own a similar boat or keeps their boat near to their own. If you and they are members of the SWG WhatsApp group then you can contact each other.

Our SWG database is additional to the national OGA Boat Register and OGA online member database, you are encouraged to also register your boat with the OGA if not yet recorded.

As you will see from the table on the 'Our SWG Boats' page the following information is displayed:

Member Name, Member post town, Boat type, Boat name, Boat location (either mooring, boat park or trailer)

Please note copyright permission MUST be confirmed for the photograph you supply of your boat.

No other details are made public, you will not receive spam or unsolicited messages.

Please aslo confirm the OGA Boat Register number for your boat in order that your entry on our database can be linked to the national OGA Boat Register. This also allows you to be contacted via the OGA.

If you are a member of the SWG WhatsApp group (which the committee strongly encourage) you will be able to contact and be contacted by other members either on the SWG group page or by direct message. The committee encourage this useful member to member communications medium to arrange a local pub social, compare technical details of similar boats, to arrange local informal sailing or to be able to contact a member in an area you intend to sail or visit.

In order to add your and your boat details to the database please send the following information to Mark Turner, our membership secretary and online editor. Either email direct to swmembership@oga.org.uk or click on the 'Add my boat!' link below to open an email template for you to complete and send to Mark.

The following is required:-

• A high resolution landscape orientation photograph of your boat. This can be a smart phone photo, please attach at highest quality. The photo will be cropped to a 3:2 ratio to better fit the gallery so please ensure there is 'blue space' around your boat or it may be clipped. JPEG or PNG format please, not a PDF Please confirm copyright permission if appropriate.
• Your name
• Your local post town
• Your boat type
• your boat name (and OGA boat register number if known)
• Where you moor your boat (or boat park or 'trailer')
• OGA Boat Register number

If you don't wish to let others know geographical information please leave these sections blank.

Your photograph and details will be added to the database at the next opportunity.
