Dublin Bay OGA put on a great party at Poolbeg Yacht Club, starting with a cold buffet supper on Friday night while local musicians in the bar entertained the gathered crews and much Guiness was drunk. Conversations centered round the uncertainty of any wind for the next day's race as the bar staff worked tirelessly

On Saturday bright sunshine and a gentle breeze saw perfect race conditions for the smaller boats, and despite some uncertainly about the course the race took place with great enthusiasm and humour, with Susan J being awarded a special prize for confessing to hitting a bouy, and Crown Duel, a bermudian sloop that took line honours, being disqualified for bring a racing boat to a race! Supper and prize giving was delayed due to the "muster match" being on in the bar, which meant more drinking time! The after dinner dancing was to a favourite Dublin Band, whose members had just moved to Cork, but returned specially for the occasion.

Sunday started slighly overcast, but there was bright sunshine by the time the parade of sail got under way. Three bridge lifts were planned, with the inner two bieng left open for maintainance. Unfortunately the maintainance should have happened earlier, and those two bridges could not be opened... None the less a number of people saw our varied fleet on the move from the city quays.

A final evening back at Poolbeg Yacht Club saw thanks being expressed to everyone involved including Dublin Harbour and a mass of other sponsors. I would specially mention Ferguson for their woven linen OGA60 branded teatowels included in every skipper's welcome pack, and the Yacht Club whose bar staff coped admirably with the influx of Gaffers.
