Atalanta was the runner up at the Classic Boat Awards!
'Atalanta' was designed by Uffa Fox in conjunction with Alan Vines, and built as an experimental prototype based on experiences gained by the airborne lifeboat in World War II and the building of the dinghies 'Firefly' and 'Albacore' after the War.
She won runner up for Restoration of the Year through the Classic Boat Awards.
The owner, Mike Dixon, has had a long, hard, back breaking time with her to restore her to former glory.
"Atalanta represents a major development in yachting in the 1950s. And Mike's restoration of her from the wreck he towed away from Point Clear is nothing short of heroic, particularly achieving it singlehanded in such a short period of time.
