9 January 1942 – 29^th June 2022

Brian Corbett passed away on 29^th June. Brian was an enthusiastic and well travelled member of the OGA, trailing and sailing his beloved Hereshoff Half Rater 'Winifred' to many OGA events countrywide and, in doing so, touching upon many members of the OGA.

Those who knew Brian knew of his love of maritime history and this was backed up firstly with his involvement in the Maritime Heritage Trust where he was a Trustee from 2016-2022, and secondly, in the Heritage Harbours initiative where he was a driving force and represented and promoted the OGA.

As a person, Brian has been consistently described as the personification of a gentleman and was a very generous one with both his time and his hospitality. He is hugely missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.
