On behalf of the Dutch OGA I would like to invite you all for the “International Continental Old Gaffers Race”, which will be organized in the weekend of 31/7/2021 - 1/8/2021.

This race used to be a part of the well known Dutch Classic Week, but as it still not certain that this event will go ahead, in vieuw of the ongoing Covid regulations, the organization of this event is going ahead separately.

The idea is for this still to be part of the DC week when this is taking place in the Haringvliet, but if the circumstances force us to act differently there are several different possible locations in the same area where the event could be held.

Several different heats will be sailed throughout this weekend based on the OGA handicap system, but being Dutch the race-outcome will also be scored using a secretly arranged alternative handicap system, with the idea that every boat has the opportunity to bring back a worthless price home. The value of the price is deliberately put at such a low level that none of you will have problems adhering to the new custom rules when heading home.

Anyway when and if crossing the North Sea is allowed, we hope to invite as many friends to sail together as friendly as ever before.
