It was an early start for Christine and Hoppy on the Saturday morning as they were hosting the Regatta Breakfast, and they would like to give a big thankyou to everyone , especially the gaffers who turned up for bacon, eggs, toast, croissants, etc on the day. They would also like to say that there is an invitation to all gaffers who would be most welcome whether you come by car, foot or boat to come to the event and have breakfast next year. It is on a first come first served basis but whatever the weather they will be at home to welcome you.
We would all like to see more gaffers at the event. It is especially fun for families and you dont need a big boat, come and bring a dinghy and join in the Saturday racing in front of the Jolly Sailor. There were a couple of grown up kids rowing around at the event and doing their best not to get too wet !
The Gaffers Race on the Sunday morning went well, with Satellite coming first, Tom Yum second and Roma third. She also was awarded a trophy as being the oldest boat in the race.
