Some Members make a weekend of it by booking out of season accommodation in this lovely town. Others find the bus from Truro is convenient. This year (2026) the Christmas Fair is not until December, so parking should be OK. There is car parking near the west side of the Bodenick Ferry about 8 minutes walk away. Further up the lane from the ferry is another carpark which rarely charges. Proceedings often last more than 4 hours.

Looe Luggers & Classics 30th July - 2nd August 2027
Looe Luggers is a well established event for locally built boats and luggers. in 2025 it expanded to include traditionally rigged boats of any construction, including GRP. It is the fourth, this year of the, now, four events in he West Country Classics series.
In 2027, the above dates have been confirmed (Oct '26), it will probably follow directly from Fowey Classics. Three days of festivities ashore, mainly on the west bank of the harbour, with music, beer and food, as well as sailing afloat, are promised at this traditional seaside town. (Photo 2025 David Patuck)
There are usually three races, over two days, amongst some magnificent old and newer local luggers. If the settled conditions are repeated, anchoring outside the harbour is an excellent option. Those with legs will prefer drying out in the centre of town!
More details will be available form the organisers, nearer the time.
